POLL: Who does the laundry?

Polls always spark some conversation...  Smile[Poll]

Re: POLL: Who does the laundry?

  • I've taken over his laundry since we got married. Know who did it before? Not him. Guess again. The man is 31!

  • We each do our own.  Right after the wedding we thought, "Are we supposed to combine our laundry now?", but we haven't gotten around to it.  If I have a small load I'll grab some of his clothes to add in, but we each have separate laundry sorters so I don't think we'll be changing our ways anytime soon!
  • He does it because that's what I've trained him to do - hahaha.  Actually it's because I'm gone 60 hrs. a week for work so he has more time.

  • I voted that I do- but he has way way less clothes than I do, so sometimes if he is out of something and I haven't done laundry yet he will do a small load of his own.  He really hates laundry and I don't mind it, so I am happen to take this chore on.
  • We actually both do the laundry - but he does the bulk of it.  He is so particular about the way his clothes are folded (I blame his OCD mother who always did it for him - and then bought him a "flip and fold") that I refuse to do it because he always complains how his t-shirts aren't folded right, etc.  So basically I wash the clothes (cause he's really bad at sorting) and he folds them and puts them away.  The system works out pretty well for us except when he puts something in the dryer that shouldnt be.

  • I am a messy person who grew up having to do my own laundry. I would let it build up until I needed it all washed and then do it all myself. DH grew up with his mother doing his laundry almost daily, or at least taking it out of his room for him every day. He can't stand for laundry to build up. We've had some serious laundry fights. In general, I let his OCD take over and do the laundry because hey, one less thing I have to worry about. In general he does a great job washing everything, he just has difficulty with knowing what goes into the dryer and what doesn't.

  • We both do the laundry. It actually started when we were dating, and living in separate apartments. My building didn't have laundry facilities in it, so I would often pack my dirty laundry when I went to visit him and we would wash our laundry together in his building. We just kept doing it together when we moved in to our house.

  • We both do it when we get sick of seeing it piled up in the laundry room.  Then, whoever didn't do the washing/ drying does the folding and putting away.
I'm friends with everybody in this office. We're all best friends - I love everybody here. But sometimes your best friends start coming into work late, and start having dentist appointments that aren't dentist appointments. And that's when it is nice to let them know that you can beat them up.
  • I do it - it's better for the safety of all involved.
  • Ever since we moved in together about 5 yrs ago now I have done the cleaning/laundry, and he's done the cooking/dishes. It's always worked for us :)

  • I voted for D, but actually we usually do it together.  ALthough tonight its all him :)
  • I am always the one to put it in the washer and dryer but if he is home when I am folding he will always help out.
  • I do it on my days off unless I am working the weekends then DH does it we do equal share of the cleaning
  • We each do our own. We've only lived together for 3 months, so I could see it changing. He is pretty OCD, so it's best we do our own. I was barely able to convince him to just use powder detergent. He thought we each needed our own. I kind of like doing our own.
