Cirque show recs

DH and I leave in 8 days for Vegas (late HM!!!) and we want to see a Cirque show.  Any recommendations?

Since this is my first time to LV, any other entertainment ideas.  We have 6 days and so far on the list are Cirque and Santana at Hard Rock.

Re: Cirque show recs

  • How neat that you will have so much time there--lucky you! I personally love all the Cirque shows and don't think you can go wrong. My faves (in order) are: O, Ka, Mystere, Zumanity (haven't seen LOVE). I have heard good things about La Reve at the Wynn also. I have seen some of the drag and and showgirl shows as well, but would recommend any Cirque show over those. My friends are also going in a few weeks and are seeing Holly Madison's Striptease or whatever that is. I would have skipped that to go to Cirque if I was going with them ;)

For food, I love Tao and for bars/clubs, I love, love, love Ghostbar (at the Palms) and Tryst at The Wynn. Both have outdoor space so it has a more casual and lounge-y feel to me, which I like.

You will have so much fun, Enjoy!!!?

  • I loved Ka!  I'm told it's the only one that has a narrative (I guess the others don't so much have a plot?) that runs all the way through.  I was equally as impressed with the maneuverability of the stage as I was with the actual performance (I studied scenic design in college....). So cool.

Anyways, we also saw Penn and Teller at the Rio (we were staying there). They're great. There's also an interesting show in the air above the lobby at the Rio, where these fake hot air balloons and floats go by, and guys throw beads at you. DH took me on a tour of the hotels, just to see the different styles - Caesar's has a cool underground shopping sections with these cheesy talking statues, and the Venetian is just beautiful on the inside.  We stood in front of the Bellagio and pretended we were in Ocean's 11.  We mocked the pirates at Treasure Island. It was fun to walk down the strip after dark and take in the lights.

I think that's all we did, but we were only there for the weekend.

  • I really loved Zumanity, and I'm dying to go to Vegas to see "Striptease" at Planet Hollywood.

I've heard good things about O and Mystere, and only "eh" things about the others (espeically LOVE -- most people don't seem fond of it), but I've never seen them.

I would recommend Phantom if it's still at Venetian.

  • We went to Vegas for our honeymoon in July. It was sooo much fun!! We saw Cirque - Beatles Love, which i thought was pretty cool. In terms of plot, it was very abstract, but i found it to be enjoyable. If you go to Mandalay Bay, check out the Shark aquarium, and also a bar called Mix Lounge (on the top floor), it has AMAZING views of the strip!!!

  • We went to vegas for our honeymoon too! We saw Ka - HIGHLY recommend. It's absolutely amazing.

If you have another day, I recommend going to hoover dam as a day trip. It was so fun and interesting.
