Is anyone taking advantage of this?  Where do you recommend?

Re: Restaurant Week in Orange County?

  • that's my birthday week, so i'm currently sifting through the list.

i had a boss who went to bistango in irvine every chance he got.  i never went, but he raved about the place.

  • It's the week before my bday week, but I will totally celebrate early to take advantage of this.

  • I had good experiences at Anaheim White House, Antonello, Bistango, Stonehill Tavern and Summit House.

I think Savannah Chop House was another restaurant before. Was it Chat Noir? If it's the same owner/operator I'd expect that one to be good as well.

Looking at the list, Pizzeria Ortica and Opah are two places I've been wanting to check out for a while.

  • Is it me or does the list seem smaller than last year?

I'm still trying to figure out where we're going to go but we'll at least be hitting up 2-3 places.

  • Some of our favorites from the list are Opah, Charthouse (<3 Lobster Bisque), Royal Khyber, Scott's and Wildfish.

  • I'm going to the Anaheim White house, but I love Lucca Cafe...they focus on fresh ingredients & have a great wine list.

Most of the other restaurants menus kinda bore me, nothing really captures me to try it, I rather go to Las Vegas Restaurant week, too. However, I also feel the level of customer service is taken down a notch during restaurant week...it's not quite the same experience when you're there NOT during restaurant week.

  • I'm giving the side eye to a few of those restaurants ( cough:: cough:: Orange Hill). However, others look really interesting.
