Okay so we are taking our "Rock the Dress" pics next week with Alain. I told him I didn't want to get my dress in the water because I want to preserve it. My DH definitely cannot get in the water because he bought his tux.
I know we are taking the pics near the water though and I wouldn't be surprised if I was asked to get in at the last minute. Do you think this would do a lot of damage to the dress??
I still want to preserve it and I know we can still get a lot of other awesome shots because we are using my DH's dad's vintage car. However, getting in the water could provide some awesome shots...
Sorry for the long explantation. Thoughts please!
Re: To trash or not to trash?
hey michi
I say trash it (get it wet and dirty)... My tip to you though, (since i went in the water with mine) is after you are done hang it to dry COMPLETELY.. dont leave it a little damp or anything make sure its completely dry before you store it, especially if there is any beading on your dress. I let it out to dry but my i did wrong by putting it back in the garment bag a bit damp and the beading got a little mildew... not too much. i sent to wash and preserve (wedclean.com) and they did a pretty good job in removing the mildew, was very happy with them. Honestly going in the water isnt really going to ruin the clothes (its not a pool with chlorine) I think even DH can get in there with the tux, but like i said have the clothes completely dried off before putting it away anywhere.
I dont regret one bit trashing my dress
hth!
I say go for it - do the whole thing - get in the water and have - I;m sure pictures will come out awesome. I plan on getting in the water myself in a couple of weeks. It's in a once in a lifetime experience that shouldn't be passed up.
When I booked it was the same price as an e-session, which was $700. Not sure now though, his prices have raised since I booked him over a year and a half ago.
We aren't taking the pics anymore though! My DH is super busy and has to go out of town next week and is going to be really busy over the next few months. Oh well, maybe next year...
