ran a bunch of errands this morning, including picking up some stuff at the grocery store to make for dinner tomorrow. I get home and start slicing the zucchini with my mandolin and proceed to slice off the tip of my middle finger. on my right hand. drove myself to the ER after feeling lightheaded and seeing stars and now I have a HUGE bandage over my middle finger - no stitches though as they can't stitch that part.
don't piss me off, I will bust out the finger.
p.s. it's really difficult to type and eat without this damn finger!

Re: my day so far
Holy crap. Owch owch owch. H+P
I just had a run-in with the mandolin this past weekend when I was packing and reached for it in the cabinet without looking. Cut my finger, but not nearly like you did.
H+P!!!
i just passed the eff out. h+p, dude.
and happy birthday to mr. ssinca!
I just took a pic b/c it's hilarious.
ack! did they use the liquid bandage/superglue at least? glad to hear you're relatively OK. that's a lot of gauze. :
i cut THROUGH my middle finger and nail almost a year ago (luckily it was all attached and a very thin but deep cut). the worst part after the gushing blood and ER visit was not being able to type. nerd.
H+P!
they put some super tape on the end so it would stop bleeding - I put a rubberband around my finger before I left because it was gushing.
at least I get to take the bandage off tomorrow morning - I start my new job tomorrow!
OMG. I hope you are feeling ok now. I'm getting light-headed just from reading this post.
(looking on the bright side, your CWs can make so many jokes about the bandage . . . you'll be a hit at the office)
Dude...I'm sorry. You poor thing.
ssinca
Good God. I?m sorry this happened to you. Ouch. I?m glad you were able to make it to the ER to get fixed up. I hope you heal quickly.
Those mandolin things scare me. Eek.
