I miss posting and catching up on posts. I'm back into work full swing. Today I learned that the first day of school feels the same for students AND teachers.

How was day #1 with the kiddos?
I had a great first day! I am still settling in and a little disoriented, but I work with some really nice people (so far, haha!) and I am excited to go back tomorrow so that's a good sign.
What's new with you? How's the house hunting going? Job, Mike, etc.?

That's awesome! Glad to hear it went well. How many kids do you have? How do they split up the SPED classes? Is it just you, or are there 2+ teachers per classroom?
Things are still moving along with us. We're still house hunting, we're looking at another one in about an hour. I feel like we're getting closer, but still no cigar. Mike's orders are at a standstill. The long and short of it is that the Navy screwed up and he may or may not get to go right away. On top of that, the person who he's waiting on to approve his latest request just left out of town for a month. Unless something magical happens, he'll miss the October start date and have to wait until the next class in January. Plus, it looks like he's being offered his own gym. I'm pushing that angle (it means he could get out of the Navy next month), but he's still trying to go to this school if he can. I guess we'll see what happens. The other man in my life, Chazzykins, is getting HUGE! Saturday was his 5 month b-day and he now weighs over 40 lbs. My little man is growing up!
OMG- DJ Chazzy Jeff is 40lbs? Christ, hes getting huge so fast. I remember the day you got him!! Is he still in class or did he graduate?
House hunting is soooo frustrating. I think in every region it's frustrating, except if you decided to go to Wyoming or some obscure place like that. Did you ever look at the house from the Craigslist posting??
I have 16 kids on my caseload. The way SPED works in my building is that I do a mix of pull-out (where I teach the kids in my own room) and inclusion (where I go into their general ed classroom and provide support). The majority of my schedule is pull-out, which is nice because I get to control the instruction. Most of my kids have learning disabilities but I have one little guy with some rumblings of autism. It should be a pretty good group this year.
Are you taking the real estate class now? Has that started yet?

Yep, Chazz-o's getting huge! He hardly looks like a puppy anymore. He definitely still acts like one though. He has two more weeks of puppy classes left. He graduates on the 21st and, as a grad gift, we're chopping his ballz off on the 22nd. Lucky guy.
Last night's house turned out to be a bust. It looked huge from the outside, but somehow was laid out in such a terrible way that our 1-bedroom apt full of furniture won't fit in it. I'm still perplexed by that one. Surprisingly the gorgeous house from Craigslist turned out to be a sh!thole! It was nice-ish on the inside, but the outside (particularly the back yard) sucked. I have no idea how they got it to photograph the way they day. So the search continues. Thankfully we're not in a time crunch. I'm hoping to find something and move before the end of September. My RE classes start the first part of Oct and I really don't want to be house hunting/moving when that time comes.
I'm having Chaz pic withdrawal.

Have I shared this one yet? This was about a week and a half ago, in the backseat of my car, coming home from the beach. He fell asleep sitting up. He's huge, but if you catch him at the right angle, he still looks like a puppy. I lub him.
