~~gobigblue~~ and other mommy ladies

Or really anyone who has an opinion on this question!

Can you rec a Ob/Gyn in J-town/Fern Creek area? Also, what hospital will you/did you deliver - is it linked in with your Ob? How about a pediatrician - also, are they linked with the hospital?

I guess whatI mean by "linked" is for example - my Ob's office is affiliated with the local hospital and is even located within the hospital. The on-call pedi is one of the Dr.s from DS pedi office. So as long as I go to the local hospital I will see either an Ob or ped that is part of the practice I am already using. Does that make sense????

  • yes, it all makes sense.  i'm actually not an official mom YET :-) so can't help you w/ a ped.  i go to Women First.  there are about 8-10 OB/GYNS at that clinic - all women.  i really like it, but it's in St. Matthews so that might be a little drive for you.  and i have a ped office picked out that i think i'll go w/, but again, they're in St. Matthews and surely you'd want a ped near your home.  oh, and most of the OBs around are affiliated w/ either Baptist East or Norton Hospital.  Baptist East is in St. Matthews, but there are several Nortons scattered throughout L'ville.  hopefully, another L'vill nestie will post some recs for you.  good luck!
  • oh gosh, this is one of those questions that puts me in panic mode just thinking of having a baby. so many things to think about! Sorry I can't help you out, but good luck with your search!
  •  I use Women's Care Physicians in the St. Matthews area.  It's actually right across from Norton's Suburban, next to Hooters.  Dr. Aaron Stewart is my OB, but there are like, 11 OBs that practice with him.  He's absolutely amazing - I just had my son a few months ago and he delivered him at Norton's.  Next baby, we're going to Baptist East - I HATED the Norton's nurses.
