HI,
My DH and I are coming to Milwaukee in mid-September for a concert at the Bradley Center. We are planning to stay the weekend for our wedding anniversary. Any recs on where to stay, what to do, and especially where to eat? We are looking forward to a great weekend. TIA!
Re: Visiting Milwaukee-Help
Intercontinental, Hotel Metro, County Claire, Pfister
What type of food are you looking for? There are too many good place. We need this narrowed down a bit.
I am gluten intolerant so I need a fairly wide range menu. I plan to google gluten free menus as well. We will definitely do a really nice dinner for Saturday night and are willing to "splurge." I know that is not very specific. but we are truly wide open. I will research recs after to match our taste. Just thought I would get some favs from locals.
Thanks again!
Def. check out the Safehouse (Bar) for a drink.. and the experience
.. I don't remember ever eating there however.. our new neighbor used to be a chef in Milwaukee and he says that Sanford's is the way to go. I've never been, but I trust his judgement

First need to fix my spelling error. It is County Clare for a place to stay. Really cute and good price. Plus it is above and Irish Pub:)
Mo's, Sanfords, Canrivore, Butch's, Bacchus, Kil@wat are a few. There are just so many it is hard to narrow down. If you find a restaurant menu that sounds good ask us about it. Saying you are open to anything and want something nice is pretty vague. It is not much different then asking for a rec in Chicago. Where do you start?
I would recommend Beans & Barley, Roots or Saketumi if you have a gluten issue- you may need to call ahead but all of these locations can make accommodations for your allergy.
For fun, go to the Milwaukee Ale House or Water Buffalo in the third ward for a drink and great music. :-)
I love Beans & Barley, awesome scones and preserves.
