Any OBGYN recs?

I recently moved here (well a year ago).  I went to a doctor that DH's coworkers *love*.  I am used to going to a female so it was the first time going to a male doctor.  The first time I saw him it was great. He was nice and very funny. I felt comfortable.  The next time I went back so DH could meet him and discuss TTC - it felt different.  I understand that he was probably more serious because it was a more serious topic.  Part of me wants to stick with him during the baby process but part of me feels that I should "shop around" for the best doctor - considering this is a very important time in our lives.

Any suggestions?

  • My OB is David Kartiznel.  I love him! Two of my co-workers used them for their babies too.  He is next to Sunrise Hospital.

  • Dr. Kirsten Rojas. Love her so much!
  • Not sure which area you're in, but I love Dr. Burns at A Woman's Place.
  • Thanks. Im gonna check all them out! :)
  • Ditto Dr. Kirsten Rojas.  Everything about her and her practice is amazing.  I wasn't convinced at first, but recently she was able to detect a problem (polyp, fibroid and cyst--all of which had to be removed) very early on in my ttc process.  I had surgery and have my 6 week follow up today where she will hopefully tell me that everything is good to go and we are able to ttc again.  Anyway, I can't say enough wonderful things about her.  Most doctors wouldn't have been as proactive and I would have been ttc for over a year before realizing what was wrong.  I'm very thankful my fellow nesties (ie RSP) recommended her.

  • Yay! Yeah, she is the one that detected my thyroid issues and got all my blood work, ultrasounds, and prescriptions before even referring me to an endocrinologist. She also detected a tiny fibroid near one of my ovaries.
  • I'd try to get in with Rojas.  I love my OBGYN, Dr. Joyce Ivie at Women's Specialty Care, but just heard at my last appointment that she isn't accepting any new patients right now.

  • I go to Dr. Turner.  www.millerandturner.com

I've been seen by both Dr. Miller and Dr. Turner.  I think they're great.

  • I see Dr. Spoon (i think his first name is Edward). He has two locations - one is Summerlin and one over in Charleston/Spring Valley.
