When you're having some girl time to yourself what do you do?
I have always defaulted to shopping, typical I know. Since we're working on our new home I find myself at Homestore at Cascade Station.
With my credit card in fire I'm looking for some other alternatives/inspirations?
I'm usually a crafter, but have not had a suitable place to craft for 2 years. And with the house still needing unpacked and put together I can't take on another project.
Re: Girl Time
I don't get much time w/o DD where I'm not trying to play catch up on all my responsibilities but if I could...
Tea @ The Teazone in NW with a good book
Perusing the library
Hanging out at a bookstore
I'm a window shopper. To keep from burning up my credit card, I head in to the high end shops for inspiration knowing that at those prices, I'm not crazy enough to whip out my credit card.
Another thing I've recently done is check out meetup.com they have groups that meet about tons of subjects. I'm into all of the Mommy groups but there are book clubs, craft clubs etc.
Also a lot of stores offer classes. I've been meaning to sign up for a class on book bindry and I love learning how to make beaded jewelry. Cooking classes would also be fun. And some wine shops are doing "ladies night out" types of events. We have one here in Forest Grove that does wine tasting, a play and mini spa treatments once a month.
I love to read, so that's what I'm usually doing when not with DH. I can literally spend hours walking around Powells or Barnes and Noble and just read all the back covers of the books. That's usually what I do when I'm really bored, then I write down the titles on my "to read someday" list.
Those are all wonderful suggestions.
LL - Do you have any recs for some good classes? I really want to get into stamping (not collecting), book binding would be awesome too.
I wish I was a reader. I can be very into a book, but fall asleep instantly after 10 minutes. Books on tape work better for me
