Where to find the hospital Soothie pacifiers?

The hospital gave us a great Soothie paci, it has a dip for the nose and is softer than the ones they have at BRU, Target, etc.  Nora will only take the one from the hospital and I would love to have a couple more.. any idea where I can find them?  TIA

  • I had gotten mine from BRU, but you can order them online from the company. Just google Soothie and it should bring up the company web site.
  • target has them as well
  • target and ebay

  • In my experience Target and BRU don't have the ones with the nose dip in them.  We really liked them as well and managed to grab 2 from the hospital before we left.  I'd try online--I haven't looked but the others worked ok for us as well--DS didn't know the difference--just make sure you don't buy the 3+ month kind--those are a lot harder and DS still refuses them.

ETA: Somehow I completely missed your siggy.  Congratulations!!!  Since you're probably still quite sleep deprived, I tried to find it online...it's a NICU soothie--the notch is supposed to be for the tubes they use in the NICU.  Here's the only link I could find--they're not easy to come by.

I also saw Gumdrop pacifiers as being similar to the Soothie notched.  They're a lot more widely available.  Apparently they have the same nipple as the soothie so the babies take them.  I wish I had known about them when DS was smaller.

    Good luck!

  • Are you sure it's Soothie? My hospital gave me one that looked like a soothie, but when I looked there was a URL for a specialty store in Nj on it.
  • Target & BRU...I would also NOT but the holder that they sell for it.  It is way too big.  I actually got a hole punch, poked two holes in the little handle thing, got the paci holder from BRU and used that.

Ditto the holder--I meant to say something but I forgot to...it was way to heavy for us...made his paci fall right out of his mouth!  I ordered some paci clips with ribbons that can fit through the holes on the soothie through Etsy.

see...why did I wait so long to join The Nest.  I knew nothing of Etsy back then so had invent my own holder.  This sounds MUCH nicer!!  Gott keep this in mind for next time!

  • The pacifiers given out at most hospitals are the Respironics NICU soothie pacifier with notch cut out. The ones sold in retail stores that are labeled "Soothies" are made by avent not Respironics and are not the same thing. You can purchase the hospital pacifiers on ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/111312905980?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649
