Okay, THIS is precisely why I shouldn't be allowed out in public prior to having caffeine. Starbucks should just open a branch in my living room.
We've had some ant problems in our apartment complex. We haven't had many issues in our individual unit, but the complex has in general. Well, today, while working on the computer, I noticed a couple of ants. My first thought was "Oh HELL NO!" So, I placed some traps and then headed to the store to get spray*
*My BFF had this problem at her place -- they sprayed all the baseboards, windowsills, and any other entry points, and they haven't had an issue since.
So, anyway, after buying my value pack of Raid (clearly the whole neighborhood is having an issue, because it was a front-end cap on sale in the store), I thought to myself "Huh. Starbucks. I totally need Starbucks."
Get in line and place my order. DH is home sleeping because he had a late night last night and, since he's not a coffee drinker, I order him a Vanilla Creme'. I order myself a Venti SVL with an extra shot, knowing how much caffeine I'm going to need to get through the day. The drink orders come up and the lady puts the coffee slightly in front of the vanilla creme, and doesn't hand me a straw. "No problem!" I think, and reach for the straw, COMPLETELY FORGETTING that I have a grocery bag with a very, very heavy object on my arm.
Needless to say, the bag hit my latte and the thing went flying. Coffee everywhere. I froze. I was on the brink of tears. I'm pretty sure I started shaking. The woman behind the counter kept asking me if I was okay, assuring me that it "happens all the time" and she made me another drink.
Once I had both beverages in hand (and, after apologizing profusely and silently swearing to never show my face there again) I made a beeline for my car and headed straight home, forgoing all other morning errands I intended to get done. And then, of course, I had to share with all of you my awesome spaz moment.

No children or animals were harmed in the making of this coffee explosion.
In fact, nothing got on the floor or any one person. I don't know how I so skillfully managed to cause the disaster, but it all stayed on the counter, didn't get on any materials (straws, drink holders, lids, other orders, the CD tower), and didn't spill on any one person. I literally made a perfectly contained swimming pool of espresso-vanilla-non-fat-milk goodness.
