**Runners**

Hey ladies,

I know several of us were training and/or doing races in the springtime, but it hasn't come up on the board in a while. How's everyone doing?

The hot summer weather has definitely caused me to slack off, but I think I finally got back on track with a new running schedule this week. I'm looking forward to the cool fall weather, so badly though. Only another month or two away!

Anyone have any upcoming races? Some friends and I are doing the Miracle Miles 5K on Sept. 26, but that's the only one I've registered for so far. My goal is to do a 10K in spring (maybe the WP road race).

Hope everyone's having fun. I'd love to hear how you're doing with your goals.

Re: **Runners**

  • I wasn't one of the gals that was training before but I am starting to "TRY" and train since it's cooling off slightly in the evening! ?I would love to run the miracle miles race but there is no way that I am ready! ?But I wanted to say thanks for running in it! ?It's a great cause that's pretty special to me since my boys spent a month in the NICU! ?We will be there for the festivities just not the running part!! lol!!

    Good luck!!!?

  • Hey, that's cool that you'll be at Miracle Miles. It is nice to be able to do something fun that also helps a great cause.

Are you following a particular program or plan for training? I had a really great experience using Couch to 5K. I had never run at all before last October, and since finishing C25K, I've now worked my way up to running about 12 to 13 miles a week. I'm definitely a "program" kind of person though; I like to have a training schedule. (I know not everyone likes to be stuck on a specific schedule.)

Good luck with your training. Definitely let us know how it's going. :)

  • I've just gotten back into running and am impressed with your C25K success. I think I'll have to check it out. I do well with a schedule too.

I'm over in Daytona area, we've got a few different events coming up.
I'm volunteering at the Daytona half marathon 11/01 (next year I'll run it!)
5k and 1M Pet Walk for Greyhounds 10/17
    Paint The Towne 5K 11/08
Jingle Bell Run on the beach 11/28
The upcoming runs at Disney look like fun

  • Those sound fun. I've been wanting to do a beach run, so I'll have to think about going to that one.
