For those that live in EBR what are your thoughts/feelings on the bond issue???
Re: EBR bond issue
I would like it to pass, and I voted yes the last time around.
People in BR *** about things not being taken care of in the city, but they're the ones voting against the things that make the changes possible.
I think it would be a great boost for the city.
We really do need stuff like that if we are to grow into a city of any consequence. I think we have all the right stuff, but major forward progress is a must.
I'll be devil's advocate today.
I voted for the bond last time but I really don't know if I will again. I agree that BR needs the economic boost and in the long run, it will be a good thing for our city and community. BUT I don't think that Kip should have allowed for so many issues to be voted on together. I would have rathered to vote on each issue separately. If I remember correctly, the city council wanted to do them as separate issues and Kip fought that to the death.
Maybe Belle's husband can help me out on this.
The "full package" proposal is a reason that it will not pass. That was the big turn-off point for a lot of people last go-'round. If he splits everything up, it's likely that the major points will pass, as Cissy said.
Personally, I would like to see downtown attractions.
This is legal advice. Circa 2011
