NYC Restaurant Recs?

Am traveling to NYC soon with my husband's family.  Can you please recommend some good restaurants?  I need suggestions for all meals (can include brunch as we'll be there on a weekend).  Thanks!

Re: NYC Restaurant Recs?

  • Give us some more info on your plans.  Where are you staying?  What are you planning to do?    What's your rough budget for meals?  There are so many great food choices, that you should be able to match dining to your itinerary--because even if a restaurant is great, you won't want to take a cab crosstown to get to it after a long hungry tourist day.  give some more info and we can give some "neighborhood specific" recommendations.
  • Staying at Millenium Broadway, only real plans so far are South Pacific one night (already have Tavern on the Green reservations for dinner that night) and then seeing Wicked the next night.  Would like to find dinner somewhere near the Gershwin if possible.  We'll also shop, probably do the Empire State Building and walk the Brooklyn Bridge, maybe a carriage ride in Central Park.  I'd keep restaurant suggestions to Manhattan unless it is something right on the other side of the bridge.  Will have MIL with us who is kind of country and isn't going to like any super gourmet restaurants.  Am hoping for somewhere for dinner where majority of entrees are $30 or less.  Would prefer lunch and breakfast/brunch under $20 per entree (under $10 is even better but I know that may be harder).  Having looked at TripAdvisor, would especially like to know about the following:  Trattoria Trecolori, Osteria Al Doge, Basilica, Angelo and Maxie's. Bar Americain, Mesa Grill and Rosa Mexicano.  Am open to other recs though.  Thanks!
  • When you walk the Brooklyn Bridge, consider having dinner at Henry's End on the Brooklyn side of the bridge.  The food is amazing!
