Looking for a place to eat down town?
I am looking for a nice/cool place to eat on Saturday for my bday. Anywhere is good- since we live in the south suburbs. I am a veggie and my husband is not so a place for both of us to like. I want to try something new and a cool atmosphere. Any ideas?

I have a list of favorites in my bio.... Any of the Italian places clearly will have a good selection of vegetarian stuff (I would look at Coco Pazzo... they have an amazing mushroom risotto), and the latin/mexican places, too. Nacional 27 has one or two vegetarian entrees, and many vegetarian small plates/tapas. But, Nacional also has some of my favorite meat dishes in the city. so I would recommend those two spots.
Green Zebra is probably the fanciest place I can think of that specializes in vegetarian cuisine, but I don't think its a good place for meat eaters. They have small plates and I just don't think its as satisfying of a meal for the price.
Because we're fancy like that.
I just recently went to Roy's on State and superior (I think) with my veggie sister and we both LOVED it. It was a little pricey but perfect for a birthday! Plus you will be right in the gold coast with tons of bars to goto after or just nice scenery for a walk after dinner.
