How was your long weekend?
What did you do this weekend?
Re: How was your long weekend?
Hello!
Saturday we went to a 50th birthday party for one of K's co-workers. It actually ended up being a pretty fun day with some really nice people.
Sunday we did a bunch of house stuff but most of our time was spent fixing both doors on K's jeep (long story short - she wanted to see why the lock was sticking so she stuck her key in the latch part, it latched down and therefore the door wouldn't shut. We were in the Lowe's parking lot. I went inside to call AAA, came back out and K had done it to the other door - lol! So we grabbed some twine and tied ourselves into the jeep! Once in our driveway we took apart the doors and fixed the locks.
)
Monday - mowed the lawns and did a bunch of yard clean up. Then K left town to get to the university she's teaching at. I spent a lazy night on the couch watching tv.
Saturday started commando potty training again. The morning as a bit rough but not too bad. We went to Target to get new blankets/sheets for preschool. Went over to friends house for dinner. The kids had a blast playing in their backyard and when we went to go home, Carter threw a fit like no other - it was so uncharacteristic of him. We ended up driving him home buck naked and screaming. We watched Towelhead (disturbing.)
Sunday friends came over in the morning for a few hours. We had a LOT of accidents in the morning. L and I were tired and frazzled which led to a fight. Grayson refused to nap so he hung out with us while we finished most tagging most of the things for the consignment sale.We went to buy a new Dyson (they let us use the BBB coupon for 20% off!) and then Red Robin for dinner and had an unfortunate accident (thankfully, we were sitting on the patio.) We now carry a roll of paper towels in the diaper bag!! I was mentally and physically exhausted and was asleep before 10.
Monday morning we headed to the Container Store to get containers for their lunch boxes. Ran into Buy Buy Baby to get another set of sheets for their beds at home (I love looking around there even though there is very little we use now!) and then to Noodles for the kids to eat lunch on the patio (and of course visited the bathroom in each of these stores.) Both kids had earned enough beads potty training this week to ride the Metro (they LOVE to ride the metro) so we rode down two stops and back. Went to a playground near the airport where the planes fly right overhead and then home for playtime with the boys' best friend. Capped off the night with a trip for Mexican. Gray was dry all day and aside from 3 accidents within 20 minutes when we got home from the playground, Carter was too!
They started school this morning and they wouldn't even kiss us good-bye. They were so engrossed in playing with the cars and garage, they barely glanced at us.
Saturday I went and picked up breakfast for C and myself. I was bound and determined to keep her in bed all weekend. Afterwards we watched a little HGTV and she fell asleep. I got up and tried to get revved up to work on my dissertation, but found myself internet surfing, so ended up housecleaning. It is amazing how two women (one who happens to be on bedrest) and one shedding dog can make such a mess! I did make an appointment to take the pup-pup to the groomers...C missed the pup the second I left the house with her. (The pup-pup keeps my DW company while she rests.) After a small lunch, C and I watched some cheesy Drew Barrymore movie...C actually succeeded in getting me to take a nap. Soon thereafter it was time to pick up the pup, and both C and I went. It was so cute, you would've thought I was quite the ogress, C was so happy to be outside!
Sunday, we had previously decided not to go to Church, I made C a small breakfast then went grocery shopping. I stopped by Starbuck's to buy my DW a smoothie...waste of money; but my coffee was good. For the most part Sunday was a VERY lazy day! The meals I made were small and simple.
Yesterday, was the first day that C was out and about. We went to brunch, and from brunch we went to Kohl's where C bought a really cute maternity blouse; it looks really nice on her. After Kohl's we went to Whole Foods for some organic apples, but ended up with a few more items than expected. It was funny because C was dressed in her maternity jeans and a t-shirt...looking pregnant...and we ran into one of her employees. They both ignored each other, but there was no doubt that they saw each other. Heck, the girl walked right in front of her. I wonder if she will say anything today.
Today is my day off and I get to spend it trying to catch up on the writing that I did not do this weekend. BUT, it is Fantasy Football draft night!
And if they had cried and screamed you would have felt sad as well. Apparently I was the only child who cried the first day of kindergarten and my mom was mortified. The boys will be thrilled to see you this afternoon when you pick them up! :-)
No, I was really happy that they are secure enough to just go do their own thing. Sad that they are old enough to do it!
I just called and aside from some potty training accidents, they are doing really well. As the director said, "you would never know this is their first day!" YAY boys!
Rock on!
I think it was fifth grade that I stopped crying...truth! I think changing schools every year (I was an Army brat) was hard on me. My Mom literally had to sit in the classroom with me for about an hour or two. I would always get so sick and turn pale. The fifth grade was the first time I was going to spend two-full academic years at the same school.
thats awesome!!! what a proud mom you must be
Blogs: Our Growing Family - CT Working Moms

Friday a friend helped me move some last boxes over to storage and then I headed up to my hometown in the evening. I had dinner with my mom, nana and little sister.
Saturday my sister and nana and I spent the day together, shopping, cooking. In the evening my sister and I made chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwiches and watched a movie.
Sunday we spend the day hanging out and then in the evening we watched another movie.
Monday we had brunch with the whole family and then my nana and I went to the bookstore and out to dinner. In the evening I went over to a friends house and spent 4 hours catching up and chatting.
Today I'm heading back to Seattle to pick up C from the airport and getting working on the last phase of getting the condo ready to sell.
It was pretty good.
Saturday & Monday we worked on the house, and Sunday we went to see the family.
Delicous nothingness.
Friday night I baked cookies. Saturday we unpacked boxes, hung stuff on the walls and waited for the cable guy. Sunday we went raspberry picking, and watched movies. Monday we made raspberry jam and raspberry pie and stayed up too late smooching.
