Hotel Help?

I am from Minnesota, but I was looking for some help in finding a hotel around Orlando. I am staying with my DH for 3 nights (after spending a week at Disney with my family). I am wondering where to even look. It does NOT have to be near Disney and it seems like everything in Orlando is expensive- probably due to Disney.

Any suggestions on hotels, or areas to look for a hotel. I just really want a nice pool and hopefully a pool bar to realx at. Thanks so much in advance!!

Re: Hotel Help?

  • Gaylord Palms is really neat and has a great pool. It may be a bit pricy though. http://www.gaylordhotels.com/gaylord-palms/?intcmp=gp-logo-bestep1

If you are interested in Downtown the Grand Bohemian(Westin) is really nice. The pool is on the roof. The atmosphere of the entire hotel is very modern and chic. The nightlife in downtown is pretty fun.

  • What's your price range? I know people who have been able to get rooms at the Caribbean Beach Resort for around $70/night. They have a outdoor bar near the pool. Also, the Swan and Dolphin hotels occasionally run same day walk in rates around $100-120.

Embassy Suites are typically under $100/ni too. They have a location near the airport and one downtown. I like them because they offer a separate sitting area in the rooms, as well as breakfasts, happy hours, and appetizers.

If you are seeing higher prices it's possible that you happen to be looking at a popular travel time due to area festivals and events.

  • I am looking at hopefully $50-$100/night. But it is looking like it is going to have to be closer to $100.
  • Why not priceline a 5 star hotel in your price range? I've gotten great hotels for $40 a night!

  • I have had a lot of luck with the Wyndham Orlando Resort at International Dr and Sandlake Road. Here is the Website: http://www.wyndham.com/hotels/MCOWD/main.wnt

We have had family stay there and we have stayed there for a weekend getaway. It is very nice, peaceful, and on the cheaper side. Right now you can get a room for $59 a night.

There are a few pools and maybe a bar by the pool. Hope that helps you in your hunt.

  • I would stay close to Disney. Trust me, it takes 20 minutes to drive down the street here. There are plenty of hotels on Disney property that are affordable. You will end up paying the same or more if you stay near I-Drive or anywhere else. I would look into the Carribean Beach Club, Port Orleans, or Coronado Springs. You can check out wdwinfo.com for information on all them.
