? for Brickyard Fans

I'm from Omaha and my Dh and I are going to be attending the Brickyard Race in July.  We are staying in Lafayette thinking that it will be a little distance away and we'll save a little on the hotel.  How long do you think it will take us to get the race that morning?  I was told on a normal day it takes an hour to get from Lafayette to the track.

Any help is much appreciated!!!!!

Re: ? for Brickyard Fans

  • It all depends on what time you leave.  We typically get to the track a little after 10 and drive right in.  This year may be a little more complicated, as my favorite back way in is closed.
  • I'd say it would only take you an hour if you were hauling ass. 1h15min to 1h30min is probably a normal estimate and then adding traffic time if you don't go in early, as I465 backs up on the west side (especially now since it is under construction.
Move along, nothing to see here.....
