Richmonder's

Things are slow around this board....what is your favorite area restaurant..

DH and I LOVE DD33 but it's a bit expensive...I am also a big fan of Sticky Rice

Re: Richmonder's

  • Everyone please reply! I'm new to the area and would love to hear some good restaurants to try out!
  • I'll caveat this by saying that I won't list any chain restaurants on here. I'm sure there's a ton more I'm missing, but this is all I can think of right now! Richmond.com and Style Weekly should have additional suggestions.

    Short Pump Area
    - Tara Thai (Thai)
    - Mama Cucina's (Italian)
    - Grandpa Eddie's (BBQ)
    - Pantina Grill (Mediterranean/American)
    - El Paso (Mexican)

    West End
    - Mekong (Vietnamese)
    - Pho Tay Do (Vietnamese)
    - Full Kee (Chinese w/authentic dim sum)
    - Buckheads (steak)

    Downtown/Fan
    - Bottoms Up (pizza)
    - Bacchus (Mediterranean)
    - Bookbinder's (seafood)
    - The Hard Shell (seafood)
    - Havana 59 (Cuban)
    - Buz & Ned's (bbq)
    - Can Can (French)
    - 1 North Belmont (French)

    South Side
    - Q BBQ (bbq)
  • Good list! Tara Thai is soooo good, I love their fire red curry! Thai Diner and Elephant Thai are both really good too. Some others that we like are Peking, Mexico, Capital Ale House, River City Diner, Silver Diner, Super King, and Ginger Red (out in Mechanicsville)

  • Don't forget about Verbena (Floyd and Robinson)!  Sunday brunch order the Nutella French Toast - you will think you have died and gone to chocolate hazelnut heaven!  Also Zeus Gallery Cafe (it is right at the end of my alley so it's quick to get to) on Belmont and Grove has a new menu every week because he buys from the fresh market so it is whatever they have on hand.  Carytown has great Thai restaurants as well as CanCan and Weezie's Kitchen.  Gosh I am hungry now - thanks!  Oh don't forget Deluxe, 3 Monkey's and Starlight all on Main Street.  Just come down here and try them all!
  • Ohhh hidden gem....Tarrants...YUMMY she crab soup!!!
  • Oh geez!!  I didn't see one of my old faves - Sunday brunch at Strawberry St. Cafe!!!

    3 Monkeys is also yummy?

I'm dittoing Bottom's Up Pizza; divine!  Legend's still serves food, right?  Gotta love a local brewery? Last I lived in Richmond they had live music on Sunday evenings out on the patio?

    I miss my Richmond.
