Can anyone recommend a vet in the EV? We REALLY need to get Dexter's nails clipped....I know I know, I should do them myself but he will just not let us. Plus, I want to get a physical and get to know a vet for the future.
Thanks!!!
Re: Vet??

VCA is great. But I only take my guys there for emergencies as they are a little pricey. They have done us so much good though. Both of our cats have been treated by them in the middle of the night. Once when I accidentally stepped on Lucy when she was 6 weeks old and once when Sabby had a bowel obstruction. They took such good care of both of them and Sabby's surgery was flawless (he has a heart condition and requires specific anesthesia). So I trust them EXCESSIVELY (that cat is my LIFE)
For their annuals though and any visits we go to University Animal Hospital in Tempe. I love these guys too! Everyone is so awesome there!
I take my dog to VCA Mesa- On Country Club and University, I Dr. Funk!
My cat, don't stone me, I take to Banfield. Simba is by far the most protected animal in our house, and I took him there for something very routine that I couldn't get in to see Dr. Funk for- and I fell in love with the vet there (I-10 and Ray). She asked me if Simba had any special toys he liked, and I said no, he just loves to be brushed. They ended up having to do a blood test that we were waiting for and she walked right back in with a brush for me to brush him while we were waiting- he's always treated like Gold there.
It definitely eases my mind to know that there is VCA in case of emergencies They are open 24/7 which is so great.
I believe University Animal Hopsital is open fairly late though. That's why I chose them for our everyday vet. I never have weekdays off so it works out that I can take them in after work for their checkups.
That's good to hear. Is it hard to get in to the University Hospital? I really want to get him in tomorrow or today, I guess if I had to but I haven't called yet.
I have a great relationship with my vet. Islands animal clinic. Its in Gilbert off mesa/elliot. 480-892-3558
we see Dr Retford and he's honestly been the best. I always feel welcome and he takes his time going over everything even if i feel it's a stupid question. He also really loves animals and you can see that immediatly. I've had a very sick dog that i had to take elsewhere because my vet was out of town and they treated me like a blubbering idiot and gave me the side eye because i was eractic that my dog was dying. (they just told me they had to do exploritory surgery) anyways, i burst into his office crying the very next morning with no appointment and he saw my pup immediatly and took some time to help comfort me. compasinate is the word.
you have to ask for him though because the other vet in his office just sucks. bad bedside manner
Thanks, Nia! Guess I didn't look hard enough, huh?
