hair help!

I'm going in for the "post-wedding" hair cut this afternoon. yeah, i kept putting it off because i couldnt decide on a style. eventually i just booked an appointment, and am still unsure of what i want to do...

This is a pic of what my hair looks like right now (as you can see it is pretty much a train wreck). i definitely want to go shorter, because when it is long, i just tend to throw it in a ponytail because it takes forever just to dry. Right now it just feels heavy like it has no shape. 

here are a few ideas of styles i like, but dont really know what would work on me. I am open to any other suggestions as well. pics would be awesome!! tia.

It's fairly straight, depending on the cut it can sometimes pick up a VERY SLIGHT wave. but i generally style it straight. Also, I'd say it is a little on the thick side...

Love this. My SIL just did this to her hair (she used the exact same pic of K Cav) and it looks AMAZING!!! (She is a blonde). I really was nervous for her to do it, but it looks fantastic. Go for it!!!

I like the Lauren Conrad long bob, but prob because that's what I cut my hair into...I'd say go there first...then you can wear it curly (with curling iron) and the length will be kind of like the Mandy Moore photo....see how you like that for a while...

Then, if you still want it shorter...go for the K Cav style. 

I'm all about taking steps so you don't chop it off and then regret it later.

And definitely add some side swept bangs...they always add a nice change to hair without being too drastic.

My hair seems to be much like yours and I got a cut about an inch shorter than the Mandy Moore pic about a month ago.  I love it!  It's working great for me.
