If you've used restaurant.com cards, experiences?

I saw from the MM board that it's 90% off with code NINETY but I've never purchased or used these deals before.

Any good experiences?  Bad?  Thought I'd ask.

Thanks

Re: If you've used restaurant.com cards, experiences?

  • Just read all of the exclusions before you buy/use. I had okay experiences but some limit the days of the week you can use it. I even had one that we found out after it was a minimum party of 4 and only tues-thurs (we never ended up using it since it was too hard to coordinate with anohter couple to go there on those days)
  • My BF family uses them all the time and I used one in vegas. They work great and I'm surprised at all the reasturants that use them. I just found out my fav. sushi place uses that site. Now we always check that site before we go out.
  • yeah, just make sure you read the fine print - apparently, if you check some box, they'll charge you a monthly fee.

we've used two and I've never had a problem...but the restaurants weren't very good. :/

  • we've used two of these at different places and while we liked the restaurants, it was a pain in the ass trying to work around all of the fine print.  i haven't and won't ever bother to get these again.  not worth it.

    I had the same experience

  • I have always had good experiences with them.

  • Just check the fine print - some have more than others. We've found a few great local places using these from when they have their 80% off sales.

  • I bought some and have used one so far.  No problems.  There is usually a minimum $ order so make sure that you will be able to eat that much.  We got them for places we wanted to try anyway and one for a place we already know we like and will go back to on a regular basis.  For $1 (for the $25) it might be worth it for some places.
