Does anyone live in south central Indiana?
I'm new to the nest, but I was wondering if any of you lived near any of the areas affected by the flood this weekend? We live in Brownsburg/Avon area, but my family is from Columbus, and my grandma lost her house and my aunt and uncle lost their business. I was curious if anyone on here was affected by them?
Reason being, all of my family that wasn't affected is putting together a garage sale this weekend to benefit those who need money for immediate needs (e.i. clothes, toiletries, bus fairs, hotel rooms). If any of you know anyone in this situation, we can add their names to the list. Thanks!
Re: Does anyone live in south central Indiana?
We are in Jackson County, just south of Bartholomew where Columbus is located. 70% of our county was underwater at one time, but we managed to come out with no damage or injury. My husband works at the hospital here and helped take in patients transferred out of CRH on Sunday.
Our house is on high ground. So far all of our friends down here are OK too. I think it's the farmers here who are hit the hardest in Jackson County. They only had to evacuate 100 homes. I just got a PDF slideshow taken of the 2 counties from the air and am still amazed that we are OK. I can send it to you via e-mail if you want. Just leave me an e-mail address.
