One more poll: Also cooking/grocery related
What are some meals that you make frequently or rotate frequently for dinner?
(Yes, I know I could post this at the WC board but we need some action on this board today. )
Re: One more poll: Also cooking/grocery related
We don't cook that frequently, but here are some standbys.
Curry fried rice---perfect since we usually have left over rice from other dishes and it's super easy. (Basically heating wok with butter, frying egg in it, add in rice, soy sauce, curry powder and whatever veggies, chicken, shrimp etc to heat up) I usually keep frozen veggies and shrimp to add in.
I have a lot of the pre prepared meals from Super Suppers that are standbys. They are pull out and heat...(At the end of the month they have awesome sales where they are already prepared)
I also use a lot of the quick recipes from kraft foods (crab cakes, mini meat loafs (I modify these and make in a muffin pan for individual loaves that are perfect for left overs/freezing, and Tiramisu ) are my faves
HTH!
J good call on the muffin tins.. and freezing. I've been freezing left overs and it's worked out really well for us lately for a quick meal when were not home to eat. Such an easy habit to get into but I forget to make it even easier using the muffin tins! Thanks for the reminder.
And crab cakes are a great idea I hadn't thought of that for dinner lately and looks easy enough!
I make home made rice bowls ( with chicken/beef/shrimp/ beans, corn rice, and salsa)
"breaded" chicken strips ( grind fiber one cereal and whatever spices sound yummy + sometimes cheddar or parm cheese...coat in a bag ..similar to shake and bake.) then I usually have corn on the side, or fruit if its hot.
pasta bake ( noodles, ground meat, cheese, and pasta sauce layered in a cassarole dish and baked for 30 ish minutes)
Whole wheat pizza is a good standby for us as well.
I may have to check into Super Suppers...good tip JD
Pita pizza - wheat pitas from Vons, TJ's pizza sauce, mozerella, and veggies.?
Chicken tacos
Chicken fajita pitas - I cook the onions and peppers in my Forman grill so everything is super quick
Portobello burgers - Forman grill the portobello with onions on top. Add avocado/veggies.

since it is still so warm out we do a lot of grilled meat & veggies:
slice squash, red peppers, eggplant, etc. Toss in olive oil, salt & pepper & grill. Also a great method to cook fresh corn.
Usually we serve w/beans or salad & a protein.
We also eat lots of easy stir-frys, turkey tacos/burritos/salads, and soups when it's cold out.
Hamburgers (varying the recipe for different flavors), shishkabob (just made some this weekend that were BOMB!), tacos, fajitas and some chicken dish are my general rotations. Once it starts getting cooler I will be doing heavy pastas and stews more frequently.
pollo asada tacos with spanish rice, beans and guacamole
spinach raviolis from costco
turkey/veggie burgers and tater tots
chicken breast with rice and salad
TJ's brown rice, pinto beans, avocado, hot sauce and sour cream
shrimp skewer with corn on the cob and roasted red potatoes
chicken and falafel pitas with greek salad and yogurt/cucumber sauce
After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!
