Poll: Where would you most like to watch a "big" football game?

I know it's a few weeks away, but I am really excited for the Packers/Queens game on October 5th - so much so that I've already got a sitter lined up so my husband and I can go out & watch Favre get sacked. Big Smile

There are a few places we're considering going to watch the game, and it got me wondering about where people most like to watch "big" games (I say "big" games because I'm more likely to go out for those than I am a normal game).

Where do you like to go?

[Poll]

Re: Poll: Where would you most like to watch a "big" football game?

  • While I can't say what I'd do about NFL, I can say what I'd do for a big college game. I'd totally be in the STADUIM. If not in the staduim, then I'm with a group of friends who love college football just as much as I do.

  • I love going to Buffalo Wild Wings and another local sports bar with friends, but at those places, it can get really loud [and I get easily distracted by all the TVs goin'!]. I'd rather do a house party with food, drinks and friends when a big game rolls around - I can control the volume, eat what I want, and the bathroom's right there. :)

  • Can I assume that the Queens = Vikings? lol.

I get too emotional during big football games. I need to be at home watching without interruption. :-)

  • At the stadium! No doubt about it...

WORD.  You guys have a nice new stadium too. :)

I wouldn't want to go to a game at Baylor though.  That's like, bible belt, no rowdiness, in bed by ten country!

  • Obviously, the stadium is ideal.  Our second choice is a local bar dedicated to the Gators / Gator fans.  It's PACKED with fans on game days, and there is a 'DJ' who plays our fight songs / cheers during time outs, etc.  Beer and oysters are great, too.  It's definitely the next best thing!!

  • Yeah, I probably should have added "If you can't go to the stadium, where would you rather go..."

In my head, I knew what I meant.  Smile

(Though, I've been to some big baseball games live, and not all of them were enjoyable.)

  • Assuming I can't actually go to the game lol, then I'd rather be in the local sports bar around the corner cheering for my team. We have people over almost every Sunday anyway to watch football. ?For something like the Super Bowl, regardless of who is playing, we always stay home and have people over. ?

  • If I can't be at the game, I want to be home with friends. 9 times out of 10 at a bar you can't hear the TV and people distract each other. At home with friends allows you the excitement of being with others while actually making the game the focus.
  • My first choice would be at the stadium.  My 2nd choice would be at home with friends...for reasons that PPs have said - cheaper, you can control the volume, you are with only the people you want, bathrooms are close and convenient, etc. If it's just DH and myself, then we might head to a bar for the atmosphere.
