What's a good age to start taking kids to 6 Flags?

I know they have the children's mini park, but at what age is even that appropriate?  Not that I think DS would be old enough for it, but we have 2 tickets that are good for only this season and were thinking about giving them to a friend with a youngish son since we won't be able to use them (somehow I don't think my OB would want me on coasters).

He might be a little too young maybe? I don' t know, i'm curious to see what other people would say?

My mom used to take me and my sister to six flags each year when we were in elementary school. We used to get those free tickets for reading so many books in school. (I don't know if they still do that anymore?). Anyhow, the only things we could do was watch the shows and do that kids mini park - which we had a blast with.  But we also went in knowing that we were going to get one "treat" and no "toys"  i know some parents spend aalot of $$ on their kiddos while they are there, they make it hard for parents to say no :(
