Nursing at the Milwaukee Zoo

Is there any good place to do this? DD has never been able to nurse w/ a nursing cover b/c she spends the whole time staring at it and pulling at it.

I'm thinking we would just go back out to the car, feed her, and re-enter, unless there's a great private place somewhere.

Re: Nursing at the Milwaukee Zoo

  • Can you pump a bottle before hand?  I went once when DS was that little and i know he didn't make it long enough for me to engorge if I gave him a bottle while we were there.

  • The car won't be too far, but I'm sure you'll be able to find someplace on a bench somewhere that's a little secluded.
  • There are places that are somewhat secluded... like back by the flamingos, there is a path leading to a building with like the "animal hospital" or something where they do procedures and such on the animals.  I've nursed back there many times.  Also, if you are going during the week, its far less busy than the weekend (now that school is back in session), so I really think there are many places you could sit for a bit and not be bothered.  :)
  • Ditto the above. I've nursed my boys many places--primariliy though in the Peck's building (where they have receptions, I just went to the corner and sat on a chair), or way near the back of the zoo in the Austrailian area there is a picnic area that no one uses because it is so far back..I've sat there with my back to the walkway on a picnic table. Good luck. I'm sure it won't be an issue.
