Baby in San Diego...

Is anyone familiar with Baby, the puppymill dog? Anyway, she's going to be in San Diego!

I cry when I read her story...I'm so excited to meet her!

Anyone else???

It kills me to think Dante could possibly be from a bad situation like that :(

Re: Baby in San Diego...

  • I had not heard of Baby, but have heard of the horror stories about puppy mill.  It too, breaks my heart and makes me so angry at the same time.  I have 3 awesome dogs that we got at shelters.  I wouldn't do it any other way.

thanks for sharing.  It is great to get the message out there.

  • Aw, what a cute pup!  Sad story.  :(  I know it all too well, I work at the Helen Woodward Animal Center.  We had a puppy mill pup abandoned there last summer.  She's a Pomeranian and is so small and deformed and has so many problems.  One of the employees adopted her and she's doing great now, but such a SAD start!
  • I had been trying to get involved in a place like Helen Woodward! I actually had interviewed there earlier this year...I am going to at least start volunteering at a rescue when my husband will be in school on saturdays...

I can't wait to meet this pup! My dog is from a kill-shelter in Georgia, so I have NO background on him...but he's the best thing in the world and has changed my life! It just makes me want to help others!

What do you do for Helen Woodward???

  • I'm in the Education Department.  During the school year I go to school and teach kids about animals or they'll come to me (I'll be featured in the telethon in July doing it!).  During the summer we have day camps and since I couldn't commit to the full summer during the week I'm the weekend girl so I do a lot birthday parties.  We're actually hiring more people in my department if you're still interested.  Especially if you can work weekends!!!  You could do birthdays with me!  Yay!  :)

It's such a wonderful place.  I have to go from 36 hours a week to only 16 later in the summer though, which I'm bummed about.  But I plan to always have a place there.
