Anyone In Legal/Paralegal Profession?

Hi Ladies!

DH and I are moving to San Diego in about a month (YEAH!!!) and DH is looking for a job in the area. I am going to be working in San Diego, CA 92123 by the Montgomery Field Airport (not too familiar with counties yet). We aren't sure where we will be living, depends on where DH gets a job, so anything around that area would be great. DH is a Paralegal in Washington DC now and has a lot of experience. If anyone is in that profession, can you suggest places for him to apply?

Thanks!!

Re: Anyone In Legal/Paralegal Profession?

  • Welcome Soon!!!  I live right near Montgomery Field.  The community is called Serra Mesa.  It is really very central to anywhere in San Diego.  Not far from Downtown where the courts are.  I am not in the legal profession anymore.  I was a legal secretary about 10 years ago so I won't be much help, but there are tons of law offices here all over the city.  check craigslist.  Good Luck and we look forward to having you here soon.

  • Thanks Steph!!

  • I'm a paralegal and there are tons of firms in the downtown area that he could apply with. Plus are some firms in Carmel Valley as well. Check out roberthalflegal.com, they are a legal staffing agency that does a lot of placement locally. I know some firms have had layoff's lately that handle alot of the construction defect litigation due to the downturn in the market out here but as long as he is not solely a CD paralegal, he should be fine.
  • Thanks TarzansWife! I sent the link to DH and he is going to send in his resume. He isn't a CD paralegal so hopefully he will be okay. Thanks again for the info!

  • There are also firms in La Jolla/ University Town Center (UTC) area. SIL works at one.
  • I would also have him contact Davidson Legal, they are another staffing company who I actually just got a legal secretary position with. I am however going to school right now to get my certificate. You might also want him to check and see if the requirement is the same because I think that a CA paralegal is a little different and he might have to take a couple extra classes. UCSD extension offers the program.

    Good luck!
