My Grandpa passed away
We knew it was coming because he had terminal cancer that had spread throughout his body but I'm still so upset. I so wanted him to meet his first Great Grandchild. He never got to be a Great Grandpa to our little boy : (
I'm so sad and emotional today. My Mom is an absolute mess and on top of funeral arrangements she is trying to finish the plans for my shower next week. I want to tell her to cancel it but I know she won't. She looks so exhausted and run down and I'm worried about her health.
She has been watching him die for the past two weeks and I really don't think she is going to be okay for awhile. She lost her Mom to terminal cancer also.
It is a very sad day and I can't stop crying.? Thanks for letting me get this out.?

I'm so sorry for your loss. We will be thinking of you and your family. We are in a somewhat similar situation right now, as DH's step-dad's mom is probably going to pass soon. She has been in the hospital a week with an aortic aneurism (sp?), and they took her off all meds, etc yesterday. They're saying it's just a matter of time, so we're just waiting. Ugh.
Although you feel like cancelling the shower, it might be good to have it and have a bit of time spent celebrating a joyous occaision. I'm sure it would be good for all of you. Take care.

I'm so sorry. You & your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
I also wanted to mention, in case it might be helpful at some point, that the hospice that I work for offers free grief support groups (open to the community & not just families of our patients). So if you come to a point where you think that might provide extra support for your mom, or you or anyone else in the family, I'd be happy to check on what's scheduled through us or other organizations in the area.
