Favorite appetizer recipes?
I'm looking for some "new" (to my kitchen) ideas...can you please post recipes of your favorite appetizers to serve? Thanks!
Re: Favorite appetizer recipes?
Appetizers
Here's my appetizers tag. I really love all of them, but my favorites are the tomato concasse, wild mushroom and thyme bouchees, spanakopita triangles, and dates.
Not exactly a recipe, but our friends and family love when we make pesto bread.
I buy a loaf of french bread, cut it in half lengthwise, spread pesto on it and broil for 2-3 minutes, crumble goat cheese on top and broil for another 2 minutes, slice and serve. Important to note that the cheese is the soft goat cheese that usually comes in a log.

I agree! I made these for Mother's Day and they were so good! I plan to make again for Halloween. Also, I just made Ina Garten's cheese straw recipe and they were yummy! Simple and can do ahead of time. What about hummus and pita chips? I am also making this for Saturday using Ina Garten's hummus recipe. It got great reviews. Both recipes available on www.FoodNetwork.com.
I just made Pioneer Woman's Jalapeno Bacon bites. OMG. I used regular bacon and vegetarian (Morning star). Deeelish.

Those are some great ideas and links everyone. Thanks! I love stuffed baby bellas and finally found a recipe that I'd like to serve. The only way I serve them, though, is if they can be cooked immediately before serving.
24 lg. mushrooms, stemmed, 2 t. veg oil, 1 diced onion, 1 diced red bell pepper, 1 diced carrot, 3 minced garlic cloves, 1/2 C chicken broth, 1/2 t dried oregano, 3 T parm, 2 T chopped parsley
Oven at 400. Boil mushroom caps for 2 min. Drain and pat dry. Warm oil over med heat. Add onion, pepper, carrot, and garlic. Cook 10 min or till softened. Add broth and oregano. cook 4 min. remove from heat. stir in parm and parsley. spoon mixture into caps and bake 10 min.
Have fun!
