XP: Help with 1st Bday party theme for girl
Alright Entertaining gurus, I need help.
DD is turning one next month and I'm getting into party planning mode. While I realize that kids' parties (esp ones this age) don't need a theme, I'd like to have something to work from and I am drawing a complete blank.
DD doesn't have any favorite toys/characters yet, so no Elmo/Dora/Diego parties. The party is going to be the weekend before Halloween but I don't want to combine the two days into one party.
Any ideas or suggestions?
THANKS!

We are doing a cupcake theme for DD. What about a fall theme?

DS's birthday is next month too, we're doing a luau theme. My DH is from Hawaii and the 1st birthday is a big deal there and one of the biggest milestones, usually celebrated with a luau.
I found the cutest invites from funandsassy.com, here's the girl version: http://funandsassydesigns.com/item_1408/Luau-Fun-Girl-Photo-Birthday-Invitations.htm
I'm using three colors from the invite for decor (blue, green and orange). I'm not going too nuts with the whole Hawaiian thing, maybe some grass skirts around the food tables.
Good luck!
