In an effort to make things happen I'm making a blog with SA nestie recs.
Please post your recs for:
Restaurants, Hair Salons/Stylists, Nails, Eyebrows, Realtors, Travel Agents, Neighborhoods, and anything else you can think of that people might ask recs for. Thanks!
Re: Poll: Rec's
You rock! Let me think about this & post back this evening
We could do restaurants by area of city- downtown, North central, etc etc..
Boutiques (doen't have to be expensive... just good places to shop.)
Hotels
Places for happy hour (yea, just 'cuz I can't drink doesn't mean I don't think about it!!)
OBGYN
Doggie daycare, vets, animal boarding
Restaurants-?
Downtown/Southtown- Rosarios, Azuca, La Frite. On the rr- Paesano's Market Square- La Margarita & Mi Tierra
Other areas of SA-?Swasdee for Thai, Little Italy can be hit or miss... but when they get it right, it is so good! Aldino's (Italian.) ?Pizza- Rome's and Caparellis, Chinese- Wah Kee (spelling?) on Blanco just outside loop 1604.
Best burgers- Chris Madrid's and Casbeers on Blanco near Hildebrand. YUM!
Best breakfast tacos- Taco Taco on Hildebrand
Fav fine dining- Fredrick's on Broadway
Hair Salon- excellent but pricey- Elva at K. Charles (Stone Oak location.) Bea at Petra's for eyebrows
Fav way to search for homes- www.mysa.com and search by neighborhooods.
OBGYN- Northeast OBGYN?http://www.ne-obgyn.com/
Doggie Day Care and Boarding- Pawderosa Ranch (love it!!!)?
I also think Thai Taste on Evers for Thai. Yum! (West side) Bei Fang for Chinese on Fred and Prue (kind of Med Center). I also like Fralo's for Pizza. Don't forget Longhorn Cafe for Burgers. I also love Tip Top Cafe on Fred and Joshephine St (I take people to both when they want local, but not Mexican)
Hair Salon - Also K Charles but with Miranda (NC)
Nails - I like MC Nails on Bandera and 1604 (NW)
OB - the place I referred you to Kandis (Med Center)
Pets- I like Town & Country Vet on Bandera, Le Paws on Dezavala and Babcok for grooming (also Petsmart when I'm being cheap) and Fidos and Feline's for Pet Sitting (fidos-felines.com) (all NW)
What about for showers and things like that? We get tons of those questions: Scenic Loop Cafe, Madhatters, Guenther House, Candelight Cafe
I have a realtor....Stephanie and Randy Kelly. The are a husband and wife team that have helped steve and I buy our first house 4 years ago and just recently helped us buy our new home and sell our current home. (We had a contract on our current home in less than 10 days!!) Randy helped us buy our home and Stephanie worked on selling our home. THEY ARE AWESOME!! They come HIGHLY recommended. Here is their info:
Legacy Group, Stephanie and Randy Kelley

eons ago, on the knot (like, maybe 4 years ago?) I created a bio to refer people to when they asked travel questions. Mostly stuff for tourists, and mostly downtown.?
?I think the name was sainfo...unless the knot deleted it it should still be active.?
?Feel free to take info from that if you want! I don't think I have the email/password info still, or else I'd hand that over for you to keep the screen name.?
Happy hour- I dig places w/ cheap(er) drinks and free food. So I really like Chuy's bc they have a yummy and free nacho bar (we should have HH there again, $2 O'Doules- woop!) I also like.. eek, can't come up with the name- the place at La Cantera w/ 1/2 price apps....??
