Wii/Wii Fit Questions...

Is the Wii worth getting?  I was interested in getting that and the Wii fit thing to do exercises and yoga, etc.  I know it won't be hard-core getting into shape kind of exercises, but I'm just looking for something to keep me active.  Any thoughts?

Re: Wii/Wii Fit Questions...

  • I have Wii fit and I truly have not used it in the over a year (sad I know) but it was due to being prago, I got tired of it yelling at me for gaining weight. after the birth of my little man I bought EA Active & love it it is really hard core (if you want it to be)

  • I love the balance games that come with the Wii Fit.  I'm addicted to the skiing and snow boarding game.  I like the fact that you have to get points and accrue time to unlock other games.  It makes it fun to workout!
  • honestly, we have it and don't play it as often as we like. It's more fun when there's lots of people to be competitive with (ie: my bro, sis, cousins, all in one house at the same time)
  • I work out with the Wii Fit and Wii Sports. I use the boxing from wii sports for upper body and use wii fit yoga and balance games for my lower body. I use it 3-5 times a week. I love it!

  • I have the Wii Fit and IMO it's not worth it. It's fun for about a month and then it's boring.

  • We've got both.  The Wii by itself is an amazing technology and helps bridge the gap for non-gamers... my 86 year old grandma loves the bowling game that came with the console, and so does my 6 year old niece.  Madden is really neat too, but with all wii games, the controls are a bit less precise than other consoles and 3rd party games which make good use of the controls can be hard to come by (Rayman Raving Rabbids is one of the few which is really excellent).

The WiiFit is nice, sort of, sometimes.  I like the variety, but the annoying child voice which tells me 'you're overweight!' every time I'm weighed makes me want to kick the damn board through the screen.  The activities are too short and the navigation is too long... though the Wii Fit Plus is supposed to remedy both issues (you use the same balance board with both so getting WiiFit will cut the cost of Plus in half).  The hula hooping program still makes me die though.

  • I have a Wii and a Wii Fit.  I used them both almost daily for months.  But then I stopped.  It wasn't enough activity for me (although fun).  Every few days I think "I'm going to pull out the Wii today!" but I don't.  I also have the EA Sports Active for the Wii which I used maybe 8 times.

  • i tried wii fit when it came out and i didn't like it that much. i don't like that you can't string together a bunch of the activities you want to do. instead, you have to select a new one after each one is done, so every minute or two.

  • I have a Wii Fit and love it - especially the yoga. I don't like that you can't make up your own workout plan thing where you string a whole bunch of stuff together [like pp mentioned], but I still like it.
