Free/Cheap places to take one year old

Hi! I'm running out of ideas for places to take my one year old to play/explore. Every day I try to take her to a park, pet store, play area to get her ya ya's out and get us out of the house for a bit.

We currently go to Petsmart (they've got puppies, cats, fish, birds, hamsters...we could spend hours there), the mall play area, the San uan Capistrano petting zoo, Dana Point Harbor to check out the boats and run around, our local parks...

Any other suggestions?

Re: Free/Cheap places to take one year old

  • Moms at our work rave about pretend land or pretend place ro something like that...
  • To the OP, I would post on the baby board also.

A, I had to LOL. Its Pretend City in Irvine. I too recommend it for kiddos! Although its $10 for children over 1 year and adults too, $2 for infants up to 12 months.

  • I knew it was pretend something.. :/

Be warned they also said it should be named germ city... apparently lots of kids sticking pretend fruit in their mouths..

  • lol - every place where they allow one year olds are polio pits. Great suggestion - thanks!
  • We often go to the Spectrum to splash in the fountain and run around.  My daughter loves going to the beach and right now it's so easy to get parking so we go!
