I went to the swapmeet the a few weeks ago

and got a cup of coffee with french vanilla creamer. It was very good.

Today I got a coffee at Starbucks with vanilla added and it sucks.

I am so bummed I just can't replicate that coffee at the swap meet. It was delish!

Re: I went to the swapmeet the a few weeks ago

  • Huge bummer!

There is a world of difference between a regular cup of coffee with flavored creamer and a Starbucks coffee with flavored syrup.

For one thing, Starbucks regular coffee is just gross. I can only drink it in latte form (espresso and milk).

  • they laced it w/weed. hehe
  • Well then I want all my coffee to be laced with weed. I swear it was the best cup I ever had.
  • I got a cup of hot choclate once from SB and it was divine. I've bought many cups of HC from SB since and they have all sucked.

    I keep trying though!

  • There are only certain things I get from SB. Their coffee is not one of them. Their flavor syrups are gross in it. I'm actually pretty amazed how a place that's supposed to specialize in coffee can suck so bad about plain flavored coffee. I'll take my homemade coffee with flavored coffee-mate any day.
  • Do you have time to make the coffee at home? ?

Lately, I just make the coffee at home and add the french vanilla creamer from Coffemate ?- taste better than the vanilla syrup one at SB.

  • I just keep a small coffee maker in my office and make my own. A lot cheaper in the long run too. I'll treat myself to a mochachino once a week though.
  • I could do it at home. The only reason I don't is because it's not daily and the creamer would likely go bad.

Get the powdered creamer. Lasts forever and really doesn't taste any different. That's all we buy. That way I can keep in in my office and not worry about it getting stolen.

  • I like the powder creamer better than the liquid kind. I also like to add vanilla flavored soy milk to my homemade coffee. I don't like starbucks coffee with soy milk. It tastes funny to me, but my homemade stuff doesn't.

I think Starbucks plain ol' coffee is so gross because they make it sooooooooo freaking strong. They make it so strong because it's usually dilluted into the other drinks.

  • Oh, really? I've always wondered about it. Didn't know if it was much different or not. That's good to know. Thank you.
