Being the maid of honor

Hi ladies--I am the maid of honor for a friend of mine in Fort Worth and am pretty clueless about what I am supposed to be doing.  A shower and a bachelorette party, right?  Oh and I guess a toast at the wedding.  We've already got bridesmaids dresses under control and her sister threw her an engagement party.  She is getting married on Sept 20th.  Do you guys have anything that you've done as a bridesmaid or that one of your bridesmaids did for you that really stood out?  Any other advice would help too.  Thank you thank you thank you!

  • i think you got it-- but I do remember spending some Quality time with my MOH a few days before- she flew in from Paris to be with me, and just the notion of ahving her free to run some errands last minute was nice...!

She also got all of my girls to write me a letter and include a pic and made a scrapbook and gave it to me the night before -- they took me out for drinks! HTH

  • My maid of honor stayed with me the night before the wedding and really helped to calm my nerves!!  She also told me that as soon as the doors open and your get ready to walk down the isle, lock eyes with your soon-to-be husband.  You will remember that look on his face for the rest of your life!!  HAVE FUN!
  • Thanks everyone!  I think I'm going to go a week early.  My parents live in FW too so it's not like I'm going to overwhelm her but I want to be there if she needs me.
  • Oh also maybe try and find out if she's doing the something old, something new.  My maid of honor was my borrowed...
