Just devastated.
Well - the guy left DH a VOICEMAIL. Long story short, even though he accepted our offer, and told us who is lawyer is, apparently he shopped our offer and got a local builder (not the one we are dealing with) to buy the lot from him (he is friends with this builder). The house that we were planning to build was our "dream house", and if we can't build it on a dream lot, there doesn't seem to be much point. I am devastated and in tears. Of course, now DH and I are in a fight because I want him to call the guy back and just confirm that the lots are for sure gone and we can't get them and he doesn't want to do that right now. It took us so long to get to this point, and it is all for naught now.
can't believe someone would do this. I guess I am just naive.
Oh - and I really can't believe that the guy would drop this bomb via voicemail. Man up jerk and call us and tell us over the phone at least.

The lot is just owned by a local dentist. We are building with someone else, and were trying to by the lot personally because the builder didn't have any lots that we wanted.
Call the owener directly. That's what I'd do! Pull the rug out from BOTH unscrupulous builders and go with Builder B!!!
No - you aren't understanding, we HAVE been dealilng with the owner directly. The issue has nothing at all to do with OUR builder. The owner of the lot is a douchebag, and agreed to a price with us verbally (no agents involved) and said he would get the legal papers drawn up (since he has all the legal descriptions) and has now reneged. He used our ACCEPTED offer to shop it to another Builder (say, Builder C) who he is good friends with.
