Well, we honestly don't watch it, but I don't think there is anything wrong with it. I don't think it would make me feel awkward or uncomfortable, but I also don't really have any interest in watching it.
I read in the discussion that someone said that it may make someone feel self conscious, like if someone has small breasts and the porn star has big breasts, but that totally wouldn't bother me. I think we are both secure enough with each other that the last thing on my mind that would bother me would be that my DH was comparing me to women on TV...
We've watched porn (and it was really bad) a couple of times. The first time we watched it, we were so disgusted and traumatized by what we saw that we didn't have sex for two days and didn't rent another porno for over a year. The second time we braved a porno, it was the funniest thing we've ever seen. We laughed so hard at that one 'cause it was really bad (I felt it was a bad MadTV parody).
My husband is not the kind of guy that compares me to other women (never did since we were dating) and whenever I'd feel down about myself and how I look, he always manages to make me better and, most important, feel loved. I guess because we're very similar in our backgrounds and self-perceptions that we ground each other, so there's no reason to feel intimidate by porn (or need to watch it, for that matter).

Okay sorry Joelle but I had to laugh that it was so bad that it was traumatizing!!! lol What did you guys watch!?!? The only times I have seen it is when its on HBO or something and its usually so stupid that its funny. The acting and the music cracks me up.
OMG! Girls! I feel like you are my sisters and have to close my ears (or eyes) and not read this! LOL
and for the record...we are not into porn either. it just does not do it for us. we do JUST FINE on our own! LOL

DH doesn't watch it anymore. He turned over his porn collection to his single friend about 6 months in to our relationship. He's a boob man and I definitely do not have any issues there.
Lol we've watched it together before but only when we were reaaallllly drunk :x Hasn't happened in years though. Thankfully we've never had to use it for reference since we have NO problems in that department
Hypothetically, I guess it might bother me if he was watching it without me, just liek it would bother me if he went to a strip club without me.

We're pretty open about all kinds of stuff, but DH was teasing for awhile about being a semi-prude because of my reaction at something I saw in passing while late-night channel surfing, so he dared me to watch a porn. It wasn't the stuff they show on premium cable, it was from the 'adult' section of the video store, so he chose something at random.
I can't remember the name, but lord knows, the images are burned into my head and we still laugh about it. We don't need it and haven't done anything like that since.
DH is funny like that and he loves to playfully tease me about stuff. And, Raffaella, you can uncover your eyes and ears now

We've watched it and I do not see anything wrong with watching it with him every so often. However I do see that there is a problem when a guy starts to only watch porn and forget about his wife then its a problem. Guys have always watched pron so what better company than their wives?!?!?

It was real nasty and we didn't expect that particular one to be on the "so wrong" side. What bothered me more was that one of the guys was in BOTH pornos even though we rented them roughly a year apart and had no clue. How do I know it was the same guy? I could tell by his 'parts' 'cause it looked like he had one testicle. That's what made us laugh so hard at the second one we rented, but it's really not funny why this guy had only 'one'.

DH and I watch it, sometimes. Its not needed but it is something different. However there is some pretty bad stuff out there. So I don't see it as a problem unless DH watches it over having sex with me. Which I"m pretty sure would never happen.
Our families are both pretty open about it. Actually my mom gave some of my friends the sex talk b/c their parents weren't open to talking to them about it. So my mom was always the go to mom when my friends had a problem or question.

DH and I do not watch it. Not because we think it's bad, or anything like that... He just doesn't care for it. I've tried to see if it's just him being silly, but whenever I turn on anything from HBO "Late Night" all he can say is, "Do we have to watch this?". LoL
It's kind of a relief, because Porn literally ruined my last relationship. My ex LOVED porn. He was obsessed with it. But not just your regular, run of the mill, porn... WIERD stuff... I would find it on his computer all the time, and would confront him about it. The first time, I expressed how I felt about it - I didn't like the fact that he was looking at it on his own, and was willing to look at it with him, if that's what he needed. But in the end, he never respected my wishes, and continued doing whatever he pleased. We started fighting a lot about it, and eventually, he broke up with me because he said we were fighting too much (gee, I wonder what was causing the fights?).
Point is, if DH wanted to watch it together, I would have no problem, but obviously, it's not something that we need.
