Park/ outdoor locations for photos near Bucktown??

Wondering if anyone has any recs for park/ outdoor locations for photos near Bucktown or Logan Square.  Need to be kid-friendly.

Our closest local park is less than photogenic and the other grassy area near us is mostly used by dogs (not having DS walk in that mess).

Re: Park/ outdoor locations for photos near Bucktown??

  • Hi Ankea! I don't have any recs for you but I just wanted to say I live in Bucktown too! All the parks do seem kinda dingy or boring ... you could make your kid look really cool and do "urban baby" photos but that probably would constitute child endangerment with all the crazy drivers around here!

Sorry I couldn't be of more help, but good to see you and your DS is so cute!

  • Hi there!

I'm thinking Wicker Park might be our best bet- but that will likely be overrun with lots of people.

I might have some pics taken by our house- we are right by the old overhead train tracks and there are lots of cool artwork done on the walls.

Wicker Park does have those pretty flowers... every time I've seen it is on the weekends so it is pretty crowded. Maybe if you go during a weekday it won't be as bad?You should definitely do the train tracks... your kid will look like a bad @$$!

  • There is sort of a park/grassy area right at Leavitt and Wabansia. There are overhead train tracks there too. I've only driven by that spot (not walked and looked around), but it looks relatively nice and might work.
  • Cirrus-  I thought about that one- but there is dog poop all through it!
  • Oh thats no good!

If you wanted to have any pictures with play sets as a backdrop, Erhler Park on Cortland and Holstein Park on Oakley both have those.
