Do you have a good lasagna recipe?

Nothing fancy, please.  I will be the one cooking it.  Also, minimal ingredients if that is at all possible but if not, that's fine too.

DH has been traveling like a maniac and he loves this stuff so I thought I'd be nice and make it for when he gets home.  Aside from that, I am sick and tired of eating out, and I feel like all we do is eat out.  It's too expensive too, so I figured lasagna would be nice.  Oh and I'm making pumpkin pie as dessert (had to throw that in, being the AW that I am).

I'm rambling aren't I?  I think it's the coffee I just had. i Haven't had coffee in almost 2 months and I am chatterboxing even with my coworkers.  Weird.  And since mboc is off work today, I don't even have her to send my random BS emails to during the day.  Geez, this will be a long day.

Re: Do you have a good lasagna recipe?

  • I know a lot of you people cook, come on and help a sista out.
  • lasagna is really easy, dude.  just boil the noodles and layer with spaghetti sauce/ricotta/mozzarella.  two or three layers, top with mozzarella, and bake at 350 for about 45 minutes.

if you want a fabulous marinara sauce recipe that's so easy and cheap it'll bring tears to your eyes, i'll link you.

Thanks!  And yes please.  Tomatoes are on sale so I can blend them if I have to for the sauce.

Glass pan is needed for this or what?  Can I use a pot?  Or a foil pan thing?

  • you could use a foil pan.  i love those despite the fact that they aren't very green or MM, because i hate scrubbing.

my sauce recipe uses canned tomatoes - you can find them for like $.50 a can if you have a fresh & easy nearby, or target has them for that price too.  here's the recipe.  it's seriously so easy and delicious.  it's the teen's #1 favorite thing to eat.

  • Youda best!  Thanks - I will let you know how it turns out.
  • spray a glass dish with pam before and it should be fairly easy to clean.  don't forget to buy no boil lasagna noodles, trust me on this one.

really?  i never buy these, it just seems weird to me.  i just buy the regular ones and boil them before assembling.

  • I thought you just put the unboiled noodles in the pan and the sauce and heat would cook them.

    Yikes.

I emailed myself this link so I could follow the recipe later.  In my head, I always thought you just put the unboiled noodles in there.  I've never made lasagna before.  This should be interesting.

  • I have a good recipe for a portabello mushroom lasagna if you want it.  I made it for H and he didn't even notice there was no meat.
