Hi all. I realize that I never gave myself a formal introduction, thinking that I pretty much knew you all. However, silly one that I am, some of you I only know from when I was lurking so long ago on the local board. Anyway, I figured I might as well introduce myself now, as Raffella (hi girl!) just did.
Although I live all the way in Northern CA, I am a born and raised Miami gringa (who thought we even existed). I have one more year to finish school and then DH and I will move to hopefully permanent careers.
Oh and my screename is what it is, b/c I do the bulk of my research in the wetlands in Belize (and previously the Everglades).

DH's ex-girlfriend actually got attacked by a croc in Australia helping her friend do research. Her friend saved her by jumping on its back and sticking her fingers in its eyes to get it to let go. Shockingly enough, she kept all her limbs. I don't think you will ever see me to do work in Africa or Australia, they are just a whole different level of crocs and gators and craziness.
