The Cake Goddess

My brother is (finally) getting married and I'm helping the future SIL out with some stuff b/c of her work schedule and her son. I know a bunch of you have recommended The Cake Goddess, but I was wondering about her prices. Are they reasonable or outrageous?

My brother and future SIL are paying for everything themselves so they're trying to not spend $25,000. Thanks!

Re: The Cake Goddess

  • I do not know about Cake Goddess, but I am using Creative Cakes by Vickie in Plaquemine for my wedding cake and grooms cake. When I was looking around for cakes every where I looked places charged $3, $4, and $5 per slice, but Creative Cakes is charging I believe it came out between $1.50 and $2. Also, there cakes taste WONDERFUL!!!!! Other friends have used them for weddings, b-days, anniversaries and have never been disappointed.
  • They are pretty pricey, IMO. Their cakes are gorgeous, but I didn't really like the flavor. I think most people do, though.
  • They are a bit pricey but there work shows. Try fairy dust cakes in Denham springs, I heard they were reasonable. I have also seen creative cakes pictures and there cakes are gorgeous.

I used Creative Cakes and paid $1.75 a slice. For our wedding cake, groom's cake, and the set-up and delivery charges we paid right around $400, to feed close to 200 people. The cake was really, really good, and we got lots of compliments about it.

Since they're trying to keep it budget friendly, if you need any advice on good places with great prices let me know. We did out entire wedding (including a week in Jamaica at an all inclusive resort w/ airfare) for $11k.
