Scrapbooking with Photoshop Elements ?

I am just starting out with scrapbooking in elements and I have an image on a transparent background but when I put the image on my background in a new layer I get a grey box around the image.  However, if I look at the image by itself, it is clearly on a white/grey checkered background signifying it's a transparent background.  Does anyone know how I can get these grey boxes off?

Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

Re: Scrapbooking with Photoshop Elements ?

  • I don't have any suggestions, but I wanted to say that picture of your baby is absolutely adorable.
Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • I'm just taking a wild stab at this, I've never used Elements, just the full version Photoshop... Does it print that way (with the gray box) or is that just a viewing device that helps you figure out what's on each layer?  If you were to flatten the background and your image, does the gray box remain, or does it go away?
  • Are you saving it as a jpg?  It needs to be a png or gif to remain transparent.
