Let me make you smile
So I am hosting two parties this weekend...My good friend Kelley is moving away and I'm hosting her going away party. She invited lots of people from her work and we have just over 50 RSVP's. So I don't have a big enough of a social circle and don't usually feed this many peeps...what do you all think is enough food??? A bunch I don't know so I have no clue of their eating/drinking habits...
I realize I could post this on entertaining, but then I'd go all ADD and start reading and get really off track from the never ending cleaning of the imshell krazee kid house
oh and I hate being too busy with my house to nest, I missed almost all the last 2 days' posts!
Re: Let me entertain you!
Anything crock pot friendly is a good start... meatballs, beans / hotdogs, chili, finger sandwiches, fruit / veggie platters, chips and dips, buffalo wing dip, chicken wings, celery with cream cheese and olives,
As for drinks... are you supplying alcohol? If so i'd just do beer and wine. Otherwise soad / water / juice / punch...
Here's a bit more detail--it's family friendly & open house style around dinner time
I'm making/having/buying--those mini bagel pizzas, chips & queso, bread bowl & spinach dip, cheese, crackers & grapes, fruit salad, veggie tray (should I buy 2?), lots of candy, cream puffs...
I can't remember what else right now...
there will be beer, wine, 'ritas, soda, water, juice
Wow Shelly! That is a lot of people to entertain!
I usually go by the rule of 2-3 items per person/per food item. 3 is probably safest in your case. I would do two veggie trays as well!
Hummus and pita chips are another thing that are fairly simple.
Since it's around dinner time I would try to add at least one more item that is hot (they tend to be more filling than others). Maybe wings, quesadillas...something like that.
We just hosted our open house. We had 60+ people come
I did mexican theme.
Chips and salsa and gauc
Sangria
fruit kabobs
Margarita cupcakes
Tacos! I made the meat, then just kept it warm in the crock pot and had out all the fixings for tacos. It went over really well, and the taco meat I had left over I just froze and will use in something else
