Windows 7

Has anyone tried this out yet? I have a tiral verson that I got from work but have not loaded it yet.  I just got a new HP laptop and can upgrade to it when it is released.  Just wanted to know anyones opions of it yet.

Re: Windows 7

  • I tried a beta version of it, and I liked it pretty well. If you like Vista (or, if you would like Vista without all the errors), then you'll like Windows 7.

Windows 7 is what Vista should have been on its first release. Honestly, I believe Windows 7 should be just a patch to fix Vista's quirks (but hey, you have to rake in the money somehow).

  • I've been using 7 for over a month now and I love it.  Although it might only appear to be Vista with a few tweaks, it really is a whole lot more.  There were significant changes to the taskbar, and several new features added into the operating system that make it much more intuitive to use.  For example - to maximize a window, you can just drag it to the top of the screen and let go.  To tile two windows, drag one to the left, one to the right.  Also, they did away with a lot of the really annoying User Account Control settings in Vista and significantly improved the performance as well.
