Is there an optimal time to charge your iPhone? I've been waiting until it's completely dead to charge in an attempt to preserve battery life, but I'd like to know if doing so is really necessary or whether I'm just being silly.
Thanks!

Re: Charging Your iPhone
According to Apple you should completely drain the battery once a month:

The truth of the matter is that it doesn't really matter how far down you drain it each time before charging it. Current battery technology doesn't suffer from the same problems as older battery technology. So whether you charge your battery from 80% or 10% doesn't make a huge impact on lifetime.
The recommendation to completely drain your battery once a month comes from the fact that over time, what your iPhone software *thinks* is 0% charge remaining could be very wrong (example: iPhone shows 0% when it's actually at 10%). Draining completely and then recharging completely helps the iPhone recalibrate its battery meter. The same goes for any other phone and even computers.
