I thought I would share this tiny tidbit.
So, I love the prices of hotwire and priceline have for 4 and 5 star hotels, but don't like the uncertainty of what I will get buying through them.
Then I learned about betterbidding.com. It is a travel forum purely devoted to hotwire and priceline hotels. They have lists of what hotels you can expect to get based on the criteria you give (star, location, amenities). Plus, for priceline, if you ask nicely, the friendly people on the board will give you a bidding strategy to get the hotel you want for your targeted price.
It takes a little time to get the hang of it, but I scored some amazing hotel deals in both San Diego and Las Vegas. Hell we got a 5 star hotel room over the weekend for $65/night (including tax)!
Re: PSA: Travel for cheap
Thanks Jenise! I had stumbled across the site before so I knew what it was about but I couldn't remember the name of it. You are the best!
