Hi ladies!
I am possibly moving to the San Diego area. My husband and I will be in San Diego next week while he has a few interviews. Anyone have any suggestions for companies that may be hiring? I am currently a Business Analyst for a large company in the midwest. I have found a few companies I would like to check out, but I am sure there are many more that I am missing. Thanks!
Re: Jobs?
Good Luck! The unemployment rate in San Diego is ridiculously high and all of the companies that I know (the ones that my friends work for, etc) are still in hiring freezes.
Have you checked with Geico or Qualcomm to see if they are hiring? Also check with some of the local hospitals and medical groups (Kaiser, Scripps, Sharp, Palomar-Pomerado Health).
Stay away from freight forwarding companies. Im not going to name any specific companies but there are quite a few that are not in good shape. My mom worked in that field for 26 years and got laid off last December and still hasnt found a job.
Do you know what companies your husband is interviewing with? Check out the areas of town that they are in and if he does get a job offer, you will want to live close to work OR live in a part of town where you will be commuting opposite of rush hour traffic. San Diego is fairly large and you can easily spend 1-2 hours a day sitting in your car commuting.
